Find someone else now is the time to replace it repairs will be difficult with snow and ice on the roof. Roofing is a basic trade it is not very difficult so it should not be hard to find a suitable replacement company.

You need to fix the roof before winter. In your case, you will probably have tons of snow and it will weigh down the roof.
We live in TX and had a problem with our roof leaking. If you wait too long it can ruin your electrical. It rotted the wood around a window sill outside by the roof.
We got a bunch of 5 gallon buckets of tar at Lowe's or Home Depot and they cost about $20. We covered our roof (which is a flat roof) with it and have not had any problems since. This is not the best looking way or a permanent solution but it is the cheapest way and it could last for years.
The only problem is that it is black and during summer, especially here in TX, it is HOT! It melts in the sun but forms back to normal when the temperature cools. It forms a plastic coating over the shingles.
Word of Warning: It is very messy and wear clothes and shoes you don't care about. We went through lots of shoes and clothes putting it on our roof.

I wouldn't wait, I have used several roofing companies over the years, never had a problem. If you just have to have this company do it, you have just one option, put a patch on it until they can replace it. ( they might be willing to have someone stop by and apply a patch). If you have to do it, cover the valley and sides of the valley with rolled roofing. Just place it right on top of your old roofing, use roofing nails about 12" apart all around the sides, and cover with roofing cement. Don't worry about the looks!

Suggest you find another company.! To wait will cause much damage to interior of house. With the winters being freeze thaw you'll have a bigger headache and more out of pocket moneys spent on damage to house. Not worth waiting. Good Luck.

You can buy a tube of tar to fill in any holes or cracks that sets up in water. This is a temporary fix and it works. But you have to know where the water is coming in from. The area of the leak is going to be fixed so tar the heck out of it.

Of course, everyone wants it fixed now that the weather is nice. Isn't that the rainy season? I'd find someone to fix it as soon as possible -- before winter -- if it were my roof. That can't be the only honest roofer around.

If you can identify where the leak is, you could patch it with roof cement.
You should do something before winter...
