I have curly brown hair and deep brown eyes. My skin is a light tan. I like wearing brown and black eyeliner but I've heard that those can be to harsh with dark eyes...what do some of you think?

Black eyeliner, then add a hint of teal/aqua from the mid to the end of the line. Your brown eyes will stand out.
Purple eyeliner works as well.

Skip the eyeliner and try some cream and brown eyeshadow and brown black mascara. Put the lighter eyeshdow on the lid and the darker shade in the crease and then accent your brow line with the lighter shade again. Too much eyeliner can make your eyes look too small anyways. I have dark hair, dark eyes and light olive tone skin. Similar to yours and I ditched the eyeliner about 8 yrs ago.

I have brown hair and brown eyes too. I like to wear brown eyeliner but sometimes i'll also wear a pretty plum color. If it still seems to harsh you can always just wear mascara and no eyeliner or wear less eyeliner. Test it out and see which one you like the best :)

I think a dark green - almost a forest green would give you the definition of a dark eyeliner but won't be as harsh and will make your eyes look really warm.
I also like a midnight blue - same thing, dark enough to get the effect you want but it also makes the whites look really white.

I would wear a lighter brown to not make the eyes look so dark that they look sunken. If you do wear dark eyeliner wear a lighter eyeshadow and lip color. Good Luck!

I have almost the same features and I like brown eyeliner. You really don't need much. Just put on it the top lids and not a thick line. very thin!

i think you should wear gold and/or black eyeliner....the gold brings out your eyes and the black will give you an intense look. if you do choose to wear a dark color eyeliner you should kind of blend it into your skin and wear a light colored eye shadow.

i've heard that white eyeliner on the inside of eyes (like where the lashes are) makes them pop out more than black and brown colored ones. tyra banks did it on one of her talk shows. and u can c the difference.

well...those colors aren't too harsh for dark eyes.
but you could try a navy blue to mix things up. it is actually pretty flattering for brown eyes.
