'...and in this day and age...'....poor parenting (in some cases), no respect, lack of family values, kids out of wedlock, underage drinking, sky tv, gutter society, spongers of the state......sorry, blah, blah, blah....life 25 yrs ago was simple, if you misbehaved you got a clip 'from whoever' and were grateful for it!

When I was a lad,I didn't think of bashing a pensioner over the head for her pension so i could go out and buy drugs. And when I had the caine at school,I sure-as-hell didn't do the same thing again.I had bruises on my fingers for two weeks that reminded me of what I'd done to deserve it in the first place.I respected authority and knew where to draw the line ( most of the time).I CERTAINLY didn't think I was being abused by having the whip across my backside.I'd done something wrong, and I was being punished so I didn't make the same mistake in the big,bad world outside of school, and end up in trouble with the law.BRING BACK NATIONAL SERVICE

Too funny! and yeah, I'm with you....except for the spikey hair thing...and thats always been weird! And Im not sure I know who Sam Fox is......but what ever happened to the innocence....and our ability to instill the "I remember when" thing? We have to make our kids understand that the internet only happened to become mainstream in the last 10 yrs or so, and it was only because someone out there saw such a potential to it....we need more innovation like this...and values and morals like we use to have! ;-)

When I was a wee one:

You had to drink all your free milk (from a real little glass bottle) with a blue straw before you went out to play, but you got a cow biscuit with it

Nobody could eat a whole wagon wheel without being sick

Everyone had those clicky things from Kellogs cereal on their bike spokes

there wasn't any such things as mobile phones- but there were car phones which were enormous

It used to snow properly and you could get a day off school.

those were the good old days...credit messed it all up!
Remember riding on your bike with your hood on your head thinking that looked so good? And making a bogie (I'm a Manc..we made a pice of wood with wheels on that omeone pushed with a pole). These days it would be banned but you never got hurt...well not for long...There was always a very old lady who regularly walked around talking to herself. Where did these ladies go? Are they all in institutions now? I hope not! The old days were so much more fun!!!!

When I was a kid married couples couldn't be shown sharing a bed on TV. Houses had only one bathroom, one telephone, and one car. I don't think I heard the f-word until I was in my twenties and it still makes me cringe.
