I am totally not kidding. you can call the ambulance. they will take her to the emergency room and p robably admit her right away. call anonymously from a pay phone if you are scared. but please help your friend. good luck.

Sweetie, have you spoken to your own mother about this problem? And what about her father? I'm not sure he is in the picture, but sounds like he should be, and just hopefully he would want to know about this to help too. Your mom might be able to intervene. What about possibly her spending a weekend with you and away from her problem? This might give her the perspective to find a better way to deal with her problem. Also, try distracting her with something, movie talk or world problems. Tell her you love her and can't live without her being here, that she is so very important to you, and to many others. Tell her that time heals all wounds, and that somehow, magically, things do get better, to just ride out the storm and tomorrow is another day. This is a big burden for you sweetie, and bless you for helping your friend. I care, so please keep me posted.

All right, honey, first off, you need to calm down. Your friend is doing this to get attention... not because she wants to kill herself. It's called self-mutilation and it is a big problem. She is doing this because it "releases stress" from her. Probably feeling some type of pain makes her feel "alive" and "real" and "valid" and what-have-you.
You seriously need to talk to her parents about it since she won't listen to you and follow your advice. Your friend needs some therapy because she is obviously messed up in the head enough to think that leaving scrape marks on her body will draw positive attention. It won't. People will talk about her, make fun of her, and even blame her. Bad rumors will start around school, causing her to stress out more, and vie for more "attention."
Again, the absolute BEST thing that you can do for her is letting her parents know. Tell them that this needs to be handled in a civilized manner though. Placing blame, grounding, or being negatively confrontational can have a terrible effect on her and she could go off the deep end.
If all else fails and her parents, teachers, or counselors think that this is a joke, TELL YOUR PARENTS. Have them call SRS. They can get through to the right channels to have her get help.
Good luck.

If you think that she is trying to kill herself right now or is in immediate life-threatening danger, call 911.
First of all I wish that I could just hug you. You cannot help your friend, no one can by themselves, you need help, and lots of it. If the teacher you told and her mom won't listen, tell your mom, tell the school counselor, tell the principle, tell the school nurse, keep talking until someone listens. It will take courage because your friend will be angry, the people you tell will ask you lots of questions. Asking this questions shows a lot of maturity and a lot of love. You are trying to handle this like a woman and I applaud you. If you keep telling people, you will get her help.
Love and light to you little sister, good luck

Tell someone other than everyone here! I do not think that a teacher would care about something other than a student trying to hurt herself. Tell a school counselor.

Talk to your school counselor, another teacher, her mom, your mom, or a sibling about it. Make sure you do though!
