Runner9... pay attention... we could NEVER kill enough terrorists to make the nation safe...that's the whole point, so somebody NEEDS to look for other options!

arkie... assuming all Muslims are terrorists is like assuming YOU have critical thinking skills... both incorrect assumptions.

I think if we capture and detain the Bush Administration and Al-Qaeda's top leadership, we can strand them all on a desert island (ala "Survivor") and see if they work out their differences or wipe each other out. Either way I'd feel safer with all those kooks out of the mainstream.

Yes, with world support.
Since no more attacks will happen from terrorists, I'd say the return far outweighs effort.
What alternate solutions. Terrorists cannot be negotiated with. They will simply demand more and more until you cannot give anymore, then the only option is war or surrender. This is how they operate, and why they are so difficult to root out. The best solution is for modern countries of the world to say we have had enough of this and to go country to country destroying all terrorist factions as they are discovered.

Terrorism will never stop as long as Islam exists.
It's not an attainable goal. We keep question our leaders - "did they do the right thing?". The thing is.....with Islam....there is no right thing. No solution will work. Unless, of course, you're talking about just plain exterminating them all. Everything you try will not work.
I think we should leave the Middle East and just let them get about the business of killing one another over their beliefs. They're going to do it anyway, and we're just putting off the inevitable. We're just delaying it; they'll still do it. Besides.......the only good Muslim..........
Why bother with alternate solutions? NOTHING is going to work. They're zealots hell-bent on killing. The best we can hope for is keep them busy about the business of killing one another instead of killing us.

alternate solutions? like what, the UN? we tried solving the terrorism problem diplomatically through the UN and nothing happened. why? you cant negotiate with terrorists. by the way, the 'return' you speak of is the safety of the nation.

Every terrorist you kill has like 10 family members you just made into terrorists. Maybe we should starve them like the Republicans are starving the country for good leadership.

With only one exception so far (Runner9) you've gotten a pretty good set of replies to this question. It seems like there's more sense on Yahoo Answers than there is in the White House.

just pull our troops totally out of the mid-east and turn it into a crystal parking lot. if you vaporize all the terrorists there can be no more of this blowing up buildings and such. the nukes should have flown on 9-12-01 as far as I'm concerned.

This is a trick question. No matter how many we kill or arrest, it will never stop. There will always be terrorists in one fashion or another waiting to inflict their views by killing others.

I don't see it as an attainable goal. If the terrorists "win," who would they have rule all of us? We have stirred up a hornet's nest and it's time to get out.

They can bring Osama's head back on a spike and it STILL won't stop terrorism. HATE is an attitude , it is not confined to one person. We can't EVEN stop it in this country , How are we EVER going to stop it in another country?
