the caffeine makes the baby really really active and can cause his/her heartbeat to speed up. There are a lot of other reasons. Here is a good website to look at:
http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/pregnancynutrition/3955.html

or go to babycenter.com and then you can find it. That website also has great information about pregnancy as well.
Hope everything works out well for you!

Honestly when I was pregnant with my first child I drank pop all of the time. Sometimes when you drink alot of caffeine while pregnant the baby becomes addicted to the caffeine and it may have to have something like a narc shot. But the best thing you can do is to try and balance out the pop with water, juice, and natural drinks

I honest to god drank a 2L a day pregnant or not pregnant. The caffeine isn't good for the baby and just like you they will go thru with-drawls after you deliver the baby and the child no longer has caffeine. My son is a healthy 3 year ld who is actually big for his age. Caffeine is a part of my culture so pop is nothing to the amount of espresso my mom drank while pregnant with me

I had 2 kids and drank diet pop with both, and they are fine. The only thing that might not be good is full sugar pop may raise the baby's heart rate along with yours and cause some minor stress. But all the baby might do is kick and move around more.

Just like anything else, don't drink a whole lot. Pop isn't going to hurt, unless you drink it all the time. I would try drinking other stuff as well.

Diet pop has nasty chemicals which cause brain cancer in rats -- wouldn't want my fetus to be exposed to them. On the other hand, regular pop is loaded with sugar, which can cause gestational diabetes, which is bad for both mother and baby.

I would suggest limiting pop to one can a day. Drink water or flavored water or better yet, skim milk!!

No, it won't hurt your baby, I'm guessing that you don't drink it all the time?
I found that it made me feel unbearably uncomfortable whilst pregnant- it made me very gassy to the point where I was almost sick, so cut back on it if it happens to you.
Good luck with your pregnancy!

I lived on Dr. Pepper, Fudgecysles and McDonalds when I was pregnant with my daughter. She turned out fine. She is alctually gifted, so if anyone says it will make your baby hyper, they are wrong. I ate only health food with my son and well, he is the completye opposite of my daughter.

Well, I drank pop with my son and he was born with no problems. But, I will say that in my 6th month I got a very bad bladder infection and had to go to the emergency room.
