It's my body, and my choice, right? But no doctor will do it. No surgeon will do it. No doctor will refer me to anyone that would. But if it's MY body and MY choice, shouldn't I have the right to choose whether or not I want to keep my arm, especially if I don't really use it, and I don't think I need it. Why is it any different with an unborn child?

My point is that if it's a woman's right to choose, because it's her body, why wont doctor's cut off someone's arm, yet they will surgically remove an unborn child from them? Doesn't quite make sense to me. Choice is choice, right?

Actually, you make a great point. What is of more value, an arm or an unborn child? What kind of nation has America become where we value limbs above children?

Those acting as if they do not perceive the logic of your question are simply answering with partiality. They understand your logic, they are just denying it.

I've said this time and time again. Abortion isn't about logic. It's about feminists resenting the fact that a man can have sex and walk away with no responsibilities, whereas a woman cannot always. I'm not saying that men should do so. Also, abortion isn't legal because it's constitutional. It is legal because of 'political correctness'. Our goverment is lead by men too cowardly to say "If you don't want a child keep the zippers and legs closed".

Well I get your point. But I saw this show on 20/20 I think, where the is a real mental illness where people actually want to have a body part removed, for example an arm of a leg! Imagine that.

Some girls get so desperate when they are pregnant and used to do all kinds of illegal and dangerous things to terminate the pregnancy. I guess allowing abortions at least saves one life? All I know is that its sad.

Maybe if our girls are better educated about the unselfishness of adoption and how selfless it its to carry the baby to full-term, maybe that would make a difference.

If you're making a point about abortion, let me ask you this:

Do you have to make financial adjustments to keep your arm? Have your monthly bills gone up because you have an arm? Are you struggling from paycheck to paycheck to keep your arm? Will your arm suffer psychological damage from being an unwanted arm that doctors "forced" you to keep?

No?

REALLY?

Wow, since your arm is apparently JUST LIKE a fetus, I'm surprised you haven't considered these questions that pregnant women must ask.

It sounds as though you have a hanging mole. I accidentally cut one off once while shaving under my arms, and it bled a lot, quit, and healed up ok. You should be seeing a doctor regarding moles, though. There is too much danger of melanoma (a form of skin cancer). My husband and nephew both died because of it. Are you a minor? If so, your mother is wrong. She should be willing to take you to a doctor. If she doesn't have insurance or money to pay for medical treatment, tell her to take you to a free medical clinic.

You were born with the arm, a pregnancy is a condition that occurs after being born. No one is born pregnant.

If you had a condition (an injury, sickness, etc.) occur to your arm, you might be in a position that you would be able to choose the outcome of the future of the arm. What you would choose for the outcome of that arm would be your choice, and not the government's.

Since you do not state to have a condition to your arm, no doctor would do a procedure for the removal of the limb.

WELL HOW ABOUT THIS! lets say you do want to remove your "arm" soooo badly that you are willing to do anything to get rid of it, and you try and remove it yourself....and you get an infection, and you DIE!!!! NOW WHY DONT YOU REPLACE all the places I put "arm" with "unborn child".
SAME THING
Now aren't you glad there was a doctor to remove your "arm".
since by doing so he was able to save YOUR life.

I think your time would be much better spent NOT judging others.

An arm doesn't grow up mongoloid or go on welfare for life. An arm doesn't buy an SUV and destroy the worlds last good source of energy. An arm doesn't need anything. And what if you lost your other arm? Who would wipe your butt? Not some mongoloid on welfare with a gas guzzling SUV that's for sure.

Actually, there are people with a specific mental disorder that feel a "need" to have limbs amputated (Body Integrity Identity Disorder). And there are doctors that help them by doing it. I'm sure, if you really wanted your arm off, that you could find someone to do it for you.

You're absolutely right!

If we don't make limb amputation safe and legal, we will only drive people to back-alley amputations!

We should all petition Congress to legalize the removal of any body part we choose, and find a way to make the taxpayers pay for it.
