sure, but then there are birds, the wind and other things to cause it, so you couldn't prove it's his fault

Yes... lawnmowers are notorious for transporting weed seeds and parts of weeds to other parts of your lawn and your neighbors lawn, etc... Crabgrass is spread this way, as well as by seed!

I worked in the lawncare industry and saw this ALL the time. The problem can easily be corrected if the lawn guys would just clean off their mowers! They won't do this because it isn't productive and causes them to lose money. So, you have to live with the weeds coming in, be sure to put down herbicides, or mow your own lawn.. I know, that stinks!!

Its certainly possible although probably a minor source of weeds compared to all of the others including wind, birds, animals, seeds already in your soil, contaminated grass seed, and who knows what else. I would not lose any sleep over it- are you going to put a glass dome over your whole yard to avoid weeds? Just make sure they do not mow you lawn too close, maintain a healthy pH (run a soil test every three or four years), and fertilize occasionally and things should be fine.

I suppose so.

Better to just plow under the lawn and plant a nice bunch of perennials, then you don't have to worry about weeds or putting poisonous chemicals on them. It is more interesting than a boring old lawn...

Yes most definetly! do waht I did buy your self a good mower and pay one of the local kids to to mow it for you. That way you don't get the weeds nor do you have to pay top dollar to get it done.

its possible i suppose.. but they could get there from animals and the wind too, as well as peoples shoes.. if you have your own mower you could request that they use yours instead

Yes it is . Also disease is also spread that way. Ask them to please wash their mower, blades and tires before mowing your yard.
