Oh yeah, and if you'd ever seen stevie play, you'd know that he was a better guitarist than hendrix and is definitely better than Clapton.

Did you know that Stevie and Eric both thought Hendrix was the best? Eric and his buddies had to go see the Great Hendrix when he came to England. Have you ever heard Little Wing by Stevie? He did it as a tribute to Hendrix. Mayer is good, but nowhere near the Great Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they are both good at what they do, but, I do not know. Stevie Ray Vaughn was a good guitarist and John is good. Will he ever be up to his league, who knows. But, saying that, no one will ever be up to the league of the great Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
But, John is damn good......a great singer, songwriter, great talent. I hope he is not with Jessica Simpson. That would NOT be good.

No. quite, the reason i'm no longer a huge fan of John Mayer is with the help of the incontrovertible fact that he has a tendency to tear SRV off plenty. If I have been to evaluate any residing guitarist to SRV, it could be Chicago-based bluesman Melvin Taylor, who quite has a great conceal of "Texas Flood." of direction, SRV's taking part in and Taylor's taking part in are nonetheless fairly distinctive.
