In plain language...
Be careful about being too arrogant, too proud, or too full of yourself.
or even plainer...
"don't be to uppity... it'll cost you eventually!"

Pride goes before a fall is an abbreviation of an ancient saying, or Proverb, designed to warn that often excessive pride will inevitably cause one to fall or fail. Essentially, the tendency of excessive pride, or Hubris, to encourage one to assume abilities based on supposed success at other possibly, unrelated activities.
An abbreviation of Proverbs 16:18: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." (King James Version)

It's talking how people generally get arrogant before they get into trouble. Do some research. There's various verses like that in multiple parts of the bible including proverbs and the gospel.

Here are some meanings that I found hope they help
1The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Yahweh weighs the motives.
3 Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.

It goes with Proverbs 21:23, "whoso keepeth his mouth and tongue, keepeth his soul from trouble."
Abe Lincoln said it another way, "It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
Too many times we, in the human (or inhumane) way we treat others comes back to haunt us. Our pride will not allow us to shut our mouths when we should, or keep us from doing things we shouldn't, treating people like people rather than animals.
Whatso ever one sows, so shall he also reap.
Treat people right, keep your mouth shut and you you have nothing to answer for.

It means basically, don't brag about yourself or become conceited, because the minute you think you're "ALL THAT!"...you're going to fall on your face and realize you're only human.

That a person's conceit will defeat them, and it won't take long. If a person thinks that they are all that, there is a banana peel waiting...
