From the 70's? Maybe there was one in the 70's that I don't remember off the top of my head, but, there was a show in the 90's that was called "The Father Dowling Mysteries" with Tom Bosley and Tracy Nelson (daughter of Ricky Nelson).

Tom Bosley played the priest, if I am thinking of the same show. The girl helping him had blond hair, and a mild lisp.
