For this to have happened someone would have needed to get a ball signed by the turn-of-the-century players, Cobb, Ruth, and Wagner, since Mantle was only 17 when Ruth died. I have a friend who has a baseball autographed by every US President from Truman to Nixon, which seems more unusual that ball players. So this could have happened and may exist but it would be very rare and difficult to prove. I have read that Ruth had many of his team mates sign balls for him and they got so good that it can only be said that most likely Ruth signed the ball himself. My guess would be as much as a million dollars depending on the history of the ball.

it really is nicely worth what someone is prepared to pay you for it, although i'd say $15-$20 is a life like estimate assuming that you'll instruct its authenticity. no matter if it really is authenticated through PSA/DNA, and so on., that estimate must be more beneficial.
