Multiply the number outside of the parentheses by the ones inside. Then follow the order of operations.
Ex: 8(2+4)= 16+32=48

Well, the distributive property basicly means that numbers or variables that are alike can be combined. For example
2+2+c In this problem you would use the distributive proberty to simplify the equation. So the 2's are alike since they have the same variable or no variable. so you would simplify it to 4+c
It can get a little more complex with longer problems, but just do it in little steps. I hope this helps, but its good that your asking alot of ppl. different ppl explain math different ways, and someone will beable to explain it so you understand...math is easy...hope this helps :-) feel free to holla back

The distributive property is quite easy. Simply put, you multiply everything in parentheses by a number outside the parentheses, or you "distribute" that number. Here's an example: x(y + z). Using the distributive property, you'd end up with xy + xz; you just multiplied each term by x.

ahh the distributive is the easiest and my favorite.

you just 'distribute' the number in front of the ()s.

for example:
3(2+5)
multiply the 3 by the two (3x2=6) also multiply the 3 with the 5 (3x5=15) your left with 6+15, which equals 21.

its really simple- dont think to far into it, because that will just mess you up. good luck =)

With the distributive property, you multiply a whole list of terms by the same amount, "Distributing" the multiplication over all of the terms.
You add together the terms whose literal coefficients
are the same in letter and exponent of the letter.

The distributive property is like this:

a(b+c+d) = ab+ac+ad

distributing multiplying something through

ex: 4(3x+10y+6)
12x+40y+24

all you have to do is multiply through the parenthesis.

if you have something like this:
3(2+7+8)
you can add everything in the parenthesis first:
3(17)
then multiply:
=51

If you have something like

2(4x+5)

The simplifed answer would be

8x +10

You distribute the 2 to everything in the parenthasis.

fist you multiply the number outside the parentheses with one number in the parentheses then you multiply the next number last you add or subtract or multiply or divide the number (s) together and there is your answer.

Example: 3(9- 6)
3x9=27
3x6=18
27-18=9

3(9-6)= 9

2(3+5)

You multiply the outside number by both of the inside numbers

6+10

Then just add them together

16
