Not pursuing the space program after 1969 with the spirit and zeal we had up to the moon landing. The shuttle has been a monumental waste of time and money. We are 25 - 30 years behind on the Space Station and the manned missions to Mars because of it.

Probably not joining the United Nations or whatever it was called. I'd say it's that because if we had then we could've all boycotted Hitler and actually have done some damage to him instead of letting the Holocaust get so bad and having World War II break out.

The New Deal. WW II brought us out of the depression and the New Deal was not needed. Instead, it created a welfare state that is unsustainable. How are we going to pay for Social Security and Medicaid, for example, when the balance of working people to retired people keeps shrinking? If the New Deal had not been implemented, we would all be very rich indeed. Instead, our government is having to tax us into poverty to keeps others at the poverty line. It is a terrible Catch 22.

Training the Vietnamese in WWII so they could fight us in Vietnam later. Ho Chi Minh was actually allied with a forerunner of our CIA. We have the bad habit of helping people so that they can just turn on us.

Letting G.W. Bush steal two Presidential elections. No, I'm serious. The U.S. was in a position to heal the world when this doof and his band of thugs came in did a frighteningly good job of turning the world into a war zone. And, "War on Terror"? Complete nonsense. Does no one understand critical thinking anymore?
