how do you change the transmission range sensor?

on a 1997 ford contour with a 2.0 in it? also how do i locate it on the transmission?

Why do you want to change it? if you are getting a code that the transmission is incorrect range, the sensor it doing its job. Your problem is in the transmission, and will require either dealership repair or a transmission shop repair.
