If you're talking about Green Tree Financial, then more or less, YES! What I mean is that Green Tree Financial bought my mortgage out from another lender. This was about a year and a half ago. I've had problems with them ever since.

They don't recognize any other state's consumer laws except the ones where they are headquartered at. Which, by the way, is in Minnesota. They do not work to achieve any common ground. It's either, you OBEY or you will be punished.

My records show that I am 2 months ahead in my payments. Their records are saying that I'm behind, considerably. Even after I agreed to their demands. Which was to make my payments 15 days in advance. But, what they failed to tell me, was that their payment processing center holds my payments 21 days after the due date before they cash them. So, basically, I'm always late and always behind. I could pay them, half of my mortgage and I'll still be behind.

So, my answer to this was to divide my monthly payment by 4.3 and pay weekly. This payment is also taken out of my checking account at a set time and day electronically every week. The weekly payment that I'm sending is $25 more that what I should pay.

So, in answer to your question. If you are thinking about using them, go somewhere else to get your loan.

I am in the process of working on one with them now. I am trying to see if they are real. I have not problem getting them to talk to me and answer my questions, but I am still checking them out. Let me know if you find out anything and I will do the same.
