Set up a bibliography where each reference is a numbered entry. For the Encyclopedia, it should be with volume and page number. The date of publication os also important. For a written work, note the Author, Title, Publication date, and page number.

Then, when your essay includes content from a reference use brackets [#] to show referenced to the entry in the bibliography.

For example, if the essay is about buoyancy, and you wrote a passage like: "Archimedes Principle is applied to the measurement of specific gravity of objects using a Jolly Balance [6]."

Then in the bibliography, you would have:

6. http://www.physics.smu.edu/~scalise/mechmanual/archimedes/lab.html

Hi there,

A reference page is a separate page to its self. At the top of of this blank page label it references with a (:) after the word. Make sure the words are in bold print. Under the word reference skip a line and label your references. If it is from a web site make sure to put in WWW. and if it is a book reference make sure to label book title, author or authors, and publication date.
