Lots of questions - I'll answer #3

Many guitarists like the sound of their guitar through an amp as opposed to straight through the PA. Depending on what sound they're after (ie warmer, harsher, etc), different amps produce those sounds. Lots of guitarists play live through a favorite amp and then just mic it through the pa.

About questions 1,2,4,5, - every guitar needs to be 're-set' or 'set-up' by a professional every so often - more often than not - ask the person that does that for you. They can answer all your other questions and probably hook you up with some bulk e strings. Good luck

1. Don't worry about it. Dings and scratches give it character.

2. 1st of all, stop playing so hard. 2nd of all, get better strings.

3. It'll sound like crap.

4. just a look.

5. One that you play jazz on...

you're asking all these questions but seriously... you should learn how to play before asking questions like 4 or 5. It's very obvious that you just need to get into your bedroom and practice for 3 or 4 hours a night.
