It's about 20-25 years old, and I last started it 4 years ago, and it worked. I replaced the spark plug, put in fresh gas, and hanged the oil. It's a pull start, but it isn't starting. . .Figured I'd ask before it goes to snowblower heaven.

Give it a couple shots of starting fluid and make sure the fuel lines and carb isnt gummed up. Anything sitting that long will more than likely need a crab rebuild.

One of the biggest problems with older small engines is rust forming on the flywheel and coil caused form condinsation, You have to pull the recoil, then the flywheel. Clean it up at the part which is magnetized and the end of the coil (which is still on the engine ) useing sandpaper. you should also check the points while you can (you'll have to remove the flywheel anyway to get to the points) Put her back together and run her.
Like I said before , this is a common problem with small engines and I have done it many , many times. As a matter of fact, I have had alot of snowblowers, lawnmower ect give to my because they would not start.....cleaned the flywheel....away we go.
Good luck

With it sitting that long you will need to take it apart and clean it all with rubbing alochol, tubes and all with pipe cleaners or something. There is slug. Get a new gas filter, probably located in the gas tank. And clean the air filter. This should take care of it.

DON'T GET RID OF IT!!!! There is nothing wrong with it, TRUST ME!!! Snowblowers have a sensor in them and they WILL NOT start if this sensor does not detect any snow within a 5 mile radius. Swear to god it's the truth. Hope this helps.

Well, i always keep a nice hammer by my side... but i would check the spark plug... is it gapped properly?.... That is where I would start. Check the cable that connects to the spark plug.
