I am a Black American and I do not have issues with ANYONE trying to come to America for a better life. If you were born into a country and you lived in extreme poverty with little hope of being able to improve your lot in life would you not try to escape to a better place? Of course you would and you would probably try to do it legally but what if you didn't have the means (no money, can't read, request is denied) to do it legally, would you then just resolve to stay in such a hopeless place or would you try to escape by any means you could?
In response to the poster who said:
"What happened with the Indians was a horrible thing, I don't think any one would argue that point. However, all of that happened a very long time ago during a period with no real laws in this country. Now that this country has been settled, we have the constitution, we have laws that we all have to abide by."
Please realize that the Native Americans DID have established laws in this country just as we do now but do you really think that when the Colonials came to take over that they abided by the laws of the Native Americans? Hmmm....

What do you people not get about the word ILLEGAL?!!!!!!! If you break the laws of this country, you get punished. Plain and simple! If you don't like it, then leave! And if our country is so awful, and every one feels we are selfish and trying to take over the world...THEN WHY THE HE*L IS EVERYONE TRYING TO MOVE HERE ILLEGALLY???
There is not a single country on this planet that did not have a war or struggle to develop it into the country that it is today. What difference does it make what happened hundreds of years ago? That has no relevance or bearing on the immigration problem of today.
And to the above user, NO there were no laws amongst the Indians. They were fighting each other for the land as well. Perhaps if they had laws then, and they had all banded together to form and obey those laws then they would not have been slaughtered and overtaken by the British soldiers.
Regardless of all of that, ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL like it or not! If I break the law then I get punished. Why should some one else who is breaking the law not face the same consequence?
I would like to see any of try and move into Mexico illegally, go ahead! See what happens to you! Do you honestly think the Mexican nationals will be standing up saying oh they broke the law but that's okay they don't need to face any consequences. No, they wouldn't! That I can guarantee you! I am a Mexican American, my great grandparents immigrated to this country legally long before I was ever born. And I still feel this way! We all have laws that we have to abide by. If you don't like it here then move to another country. Just make sure you do it legally!

What happened with the Indians was a horrible thing, I don't think any one would argue that point. However, all of that happened a very long time ago during a period with no real laws in this country. Now that this country has been settled, we have the constitution, we have laws that we all have to abide by. It isn't that we are upset that Mexicans are coming to American, it's that we are upset when they do it illegally, and they don't pay taxes, they get welfare, they get their medical bills paid for, etc. Mexico does not allow Americans into their country illegally either, neither does any other country in the world. So why should America just open up our borders and say come on in?
I believe that anyone who goes through the proper, legal channels have a right to be here. Those that break the law however do not!

1. They don't think they should have to learn english, that we should have to learn spanish. Every other culture that comes here actually wanted to learn the language. Example: the asians thought it was respectful to learn it and it made them proud to learn english.
2. Blacks were forced to come here in the first place. (not counting the ones that came after slavery.)
3. They are stepping around the system and other cultures respected our laws about coming here. It is a sign of disrespect to our laws if they come here illegally. (I know you did not want this included.) BUT why does anyone think that mexicans will not cause a WHOLE BUNCH of CRIME if they can't even obey the first law given to them from here?

You are right about the fact that this country was not came by honestly. But, that doesn't mean that Americans don't have the responsibility to protect this land and the people in it.
Times change. I do not think it's fair of anybody to expect the USA to let people in without proper identification simply because the people who came here on the Mayflower didn't have passports.
I can't go to the DMV and ask them to disregard my DWI because 100 years ago it was legal to drive drunk.....

It's because there's now an adequate supply of human beings already in the United States, no need for more. LOL. Also, the rate at which immigrants are coming and recent immigrants are having children is greater than the speed with which infrastructure can be built to support them adequately, leading to crowded schools, traffic, crime.

well do we need to war and kill the Mexicans? What is your point exactly? That we cannot have a country with secure borders because of the 17 and 1800's?
If that is the case, then all law is invalid, all property rights are invalid, you see where you go with your logic?

Ok let me see if I can explain this so that you will understand. Most Americans (blacks , whites , indians , etc) are upset because the majority who enter are ILLEGAL and the majority not only take our jobs but they also steal anything they can get their hands on. I am saying this from experiance not just hear say. They also are a major source of the drug activity and for some reason they seem to think that just because they are here in the USA that we should change everything for them ( make spanish a second language , give them workers benefits such as insurance and social security. In simple terms most of us HATE them because they can not be trusted and they want everything given to them that we have have worked for.

Because when our ancestors came to America, it was far easier. The immigration process wasn't quite as strict as it is now, which meant there wasn't such a big gap between "legal" and "illegal" residents.
Also, it wasn't exactly a cake walk to come to America when all you spoke was Russian, just as it isn't easy to come here when all you speak is Spanish.
PS: Full sentences and grammar are your friends, I promise. =)

maximum human beings got here right here legally, the priority is with unlawful immigrants that are breaking American regulation. man or woman under me- circumstances replace, u.s. use to settle for greater or less all people with none fuss yet its transforming into to be sparkling u.s. desires stricter immigration policies to guard itself from spies or terrorist. the concepts-set interior the early 1900s grow to be u.s. grow to be massive and we will take all people any such super form of individuals loaded up boats from Europe to return to u.s.. yet now u.s. would not prefer any such super form of immigrants to return in, which incorporate there isn't a call for to fill the rustic. lady Liberty ought to not say you prefer a green card to stay right here however the U.S. government says you do and that i think of they have a sprint greater say interior the international then a statue. The land isn't the community human beings land anymore, purely like an invading u . s . u.s. took over their land and compelled their regulations upon them. i don't agree on the tactic yet what's performed is performed, the undeniable fact that community human beings have been in this land previously u.s. grow to be u.s. and now are unlawful immigrants is their very own fault they did not abide by potential of American regulation and grow to be voters. they have the possibility to assimilate into American subculture, which i understand is arbitrary yet for any inhabitants to stay to tell the story its best to stick to the regulations of the land which community human beings did not comprehend via fact the ecu form of issues have been so diverse from their very own.
