as a size 13/14 woman i am comfortable with my body. i have curves and thighs and i think it actually inhances my beauty.what erks me the most is the magazines,tv shows, and the influence of the media that makes young women feel they are fat because they have curves when the women that are walking down the runway look like they are damn near starving. who the hell want to see somebody's rib cage. although some people are naturally skinny society in a nut shell are destroying the images of real women of all shapes and sizes. its time that someone keep it real. it aint america's next top model. thanks tyra

I agree. I dont like when the models are sticks. I am 16 and I have done a bit of modeling. nothing big just local charity stuff. I am size 2 in some stores and 6 in others. however i am not a stick. I work out and have a lot of leg muscle from dancing. I dont like it when people starve themselves to be skinny. If you eat proper and you are skinny then you cant help it. But now a days you see 10-13 year olds who want to look like the models and i do not agree with this at all.

It is good that you are happy with your own body image. And I agree that many of the models out there are often too skinny. But the fact is that professional fashion models are tall and thin. Modeling is a job, and being tall and thin are two of the basic requirements for that profession. Even "plus sized" models are usually no more than a size 10 or sometimes 12 at the most. Professional models are thin so that they can model a wide range and variety of clothing, and America's Next Top Model is a show about (supposedly) training girls to become potential models and teaching them all the different types of modeling. I understand what you are saying, but it wouldn't make sense to have "real" women competing on the show.

First I would like to say that I am natrally skinny but I do not starve myself. I do not htink people that are born skiny should be punished but society does need to accept all shapes. Women that are bigger are still really beautiful. On America's Next Top Model one season they a ctually had a plus sizeed model on there. She was voted off though. But I do not like the term "plus sized models." They are models jsut like skinnier models. They do not label skinnier models "skinny models."I hate the term plus sized. As for skinny model on the runway they just passed a law in one country that said models under a certain weight are banned off the runway. I think they should ahve models of all sizes on the runway. Models that look like normal people. That is what I want to see!

Although I agree, I would like to see some more women with curves and not just size 0's and 2's, I do not think it is fair to say anyone under a size 8 is not a real woman. All shapes and sizes should be celebrated. Take care.

When another song about liking giant butts comes out, I guess my look is going to be hot again, but it hasn't always been thinner that was most popular anyway. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14. Nobody had a problem with her, and NOBODY really believes that if my 36D cup and someone's 36A cup were in a popularity competition, the A cup would come out ahead. I've had no shortage of hot dates, ever, and if anybody was turned off by my "awesome curves" they were certainly good at pretending, so the models don't bother me at all. One of my friends growing up was a tall, very thin girl: a dancer and a model. We never had to compete with each other for anything.

They DID have some on the first few seasons. In fact, the one from last year (or was it the year before) has done quite a bit of modelling, and she made if quite far into the season before getting the boot. (her name is Toccara). I agree that some of them this season are really bad (the twins are the WORST), but as a size 14 myself I don't really envy them. Actually, I feel bad for them, because they'll never fill out a sweater the way I do! We all have to be comfortable in our skin, no matter what size it is!

i might watch it...yet i don't think of it may well be good. some ladies are petite, some are huge boned. in spite of. that's nto a great deal as long as they at the instant are not doing something risky to themselves. The food alot of plus sized ladies consume fairly are very great and unhealty. a great number of the girls people who prefer to grow to be a style may well be plus sized, yet are only have a greater physically powerful shape. it extremely is a stereotype. i've got been referred to as out as 'anorexic' and 'way too skinny' for being 5'2 and weighing 80 two pounds....yet whats up that's me. I stay a healthful way of existence, do activities, style, and consume healthful. From journey, i'm able to inform you, the modeling international is far less accepting of plus sized ladies. places like Abercrombie, Aeropostale (my generic bookings) might by no skill use a plus sized lady. I wish i could substitute that, and that i be attentive to i might attempt. as long as they're healthful, it is not suitable.

I think that would be a wonderful idea! Everybody keeps asking about how we can help young women these days with self esteem, well lets start with TV and the images that are sent to them of what a woman should look like. I think the Dove ads that use real women as their models is great!

Models are skinny because clothes look good on them...but I agree... those modelling tv shows...they need to get more beef in there. But, you also have to think about the poher press...telling girls to forget about being skinny, eat what you like and be 'curvy'. In some cases, curvy IS unhealthy. We should stop worrying about telling people how to look and start helping people to become who they are comfortable with. It's All about confidence and loving yourself for being an individual, not a lookalike.

Sweetie, facts is facts. The industry and most people following the industry WANT bone racks. Models look the way that the designers, buyers, and sellers want them to look. And when us size 13s look at them waltzing down the runway, a size two model will more than likely sell the clothes than the 14's. It has always been that way and always will be. Of course there is a small market for the *full figured women* as far as modelling goes, but its never going to be like the teeny models available opportunities. Its just the way that it is. Don't forget, Tyra herself considers herself to be a *bigger* built model....* It just plain stinks that a size ten is now considered full figure.... I have spent a lifetime starving myself to be thin, at 46 years of age I now eat all the damn apple pie I want!
