this was when they were not endangered or extinct or even close to being either! yea i did i was really really pissed at it so i kicked it, then i went back 10 days and saw that it did the same thing each day so i kicked it really really hard! finally i confronted a zoo-ologist person about the manatee's behavior and they said it was completely normal for male manatee's to do that in mating season, but if i cant do that in public neither should he!!!

well now that manatee is one of my closest friends, he only was sore for several months but after that we became friends!

No and I certainly wouldn't condone it. For one thing, the manatee is a living fossil, having been on this planet for 50 million years. That alone deserves some respect. These magnificent creatures knew no fear of predation and death till we showed up with our speedboats, filament lines, locking gates and urban sprawl. Now the creature that sharks and gators avoid is in trouble thanks to our constant encroachment on its habitat.

Manatees are a federally protected endangered species and harassing them is an arrestable offense. Thus, I wouldn't recommend kicking, punching or even feeding them.

Please, leave the gentle manatee alone. All they ask is to be left in peace.

I kicked a manatee so hard in the nether regions that he became a she. And it was great fun.

No. Under water they move fast, are large, and would be difficult to target. Then too I fear that Steve Irwin's ghost would kick me right back. Or maybe sic a sting ray on me? Not funny, you know.

No, I haven't. Admittedly, I've never had the opportunity to either.
