Crabs may look really neat, but they will grab onto the tails of the guppies when they are sleeping (I learned this years ago). It is easy enough to keep them contained, just don't fill your tank up all the way. You may want to consider a shrimp http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1842 , or a dwarf frog http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_dwarf_frog , but you will have to keep the fry separated from it for a few weeks

Try a fiddler crab. They are so entertaining! I have had several in community tanks & they do pretty well. Only keep one per tank though, as they are territorial with their own kind.

Have you seen "Finding Nemo?" If so, fiddler crabs (which run about 3 or 4 bucks at your local pet store) are similar to the crabs in the movie that are eating out of the pipe when Nemo gets to the EAC. They wave their little arms & big claw for hours on end. My last one lived for years, molted a few times & grew an even bigger claw, and waved his little legs in the air constantly.

Good luck with your tank!

Do you mean a crayfish? Get really small ones from a bait shot, but no guarantees that they won't get hungry and want a guppy to snack on.
