The Boardwalk is the best place to stay there. You can walk to EPCOT in 5 minutes or less or take the Friendship boats to EPCOT ot the Disney-MGM Studios. The nightlife is great there too. There is an ESPN Zone, Dance Hall, and a really cool piano bar called Jellyrolls. That is my favorite place in the planet. They have dueling pianos! The hotel is really pretty too and also close by to Downtown Disney. You can take the shuttle anywhere.

Are you asking about the best Walt Disney World Resort in the Epcot area? The Resorts in the Epcot area are Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, the Walt Disney World Dolphin, and the Walt Disney World Swan. I think the Beach Club Resort is lovely! Maybe that's just because it's New England themed and I'm from New England. I've never stayed there, though. The Boardwalk Inn is also very nice, and the Boardwalk, with many great shops and restaurants, is only a short walk away. All of the Epcot Resorts have a walkway that leads right to Epcot and the Disney-MGM Studios which is convenient. However, I haven't stayed at any of the Epcot Resorts. I stay at Disney's Polynesian Resort, which is a Magic Kingdom Resort with access to the monorail. It's the most beautiful Resort on property and has the highest Guest return rate of any of the Disney Resorts.

If u have alot of money the places ppl recommended are nice but if u r like me and cannot afford alot but still want to stay in a nice place and if u r driving or not. I was just there in August and my daughter and I stayed at the Travelodge Suites. Its a pink hotel on Irlo Bronson Rd next to a Big Orange. Yes its not top quality but it was clean and comfy. Had 2 double beds, a small refridgerator, couch, table, TV, I think it even had a microwave and dressers. It had a really nice swimming pool and outdoor hot tub (WAS FANTASTIC) and the rates started at $35. They have transportation to Disney too but if u r driving its only about 3 miles and there is no toll inbetween your hotel and Disney. Parking was like $9 a day. So u have your options open there. Aslo, if u do plan to stay there, DO NOT ORDER PIZZA from the place that puts the little menus on your door.. they were so gross.
It satisfied me and if u plan to do all of Disney I hope u have at least a week. If u have time too, go to busch gardens Tampa that was so much fun too and the beach is only like 10 miles further.
Also Its a must to go to the arabian nights dinner show, upgrade to VIP and it is all so well worth it! my daughter loved it and I loved it especially if u like horses. Dinner was awsome I had prime rib and u get all the pop and wine or beer u want to drink :) u will have a fantastic night and it was only a mile down the road from this hotel. Hope all works out and u have a great time where ever u stay.

If you are looking at specifically EPCOT, then the Yacht and Beach Club resorts are great. You can walk right from your resort, along the water, to Epcot. It's a back entrance few people know about. These resorts are beautiful. There is a pool, with a sand bottom, and a ship with a big water slide. It is great for kids and adults. There is a great restaurant, the Yachtsman, there as well as other dining options. You can also get a boat right from your hotel to MGM, or you could also walk there, but it a good bit further away than EPCOT is. Right across the lagoon is Disney's Boardwalk with restaurants, ice cream, shops, etc. That is the best resort at Epcot.

The closest hotels to Epcot at Walt Disney World are:
Disney's Yacht Club
Disney's Beach Club
Disney's Boardwalk
Swan and Dolphin Resorts as well. These are all walking distance to Epcot. Or you can take a boat ride to the park. You can also walk or boat over to Disney's MGM Studios as well.
The Yacht and Beach Club pool is the best on property, in my opinion with a full sand bottom and it goes on forever. If you have children the slide is wonderful as well. Also located just in between the two resorts is the best ice cream location on property, Beaches and Cream. They not only have ice cream, but also burgers. Yummy!!! There is lots to do in the area being right on the water that Disney's Boardwalk is on. There are clubs on the other side of the water (so you don't have to worry about possibly hearing them). Restaurants, Surrey Bikes, relaxing by the water.

I have stayed at all of the All-Star resorts and if you have kids, these are really great, because they have huge giant characters all around the hotels and its a really great price for the resort. For moderates, I would say if you do, or even don't have kids, stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, because at every island (every 3 buildings) they have a pool that is open 24 hours, they have a white-sand beach, hammocks and a playground. And then at Old Port Royale, they have a waterslide and the food court is fantastic! Kids meals comes with a bucket and shovel!! Not to mention you can hear the Epcot Fireworks show right from the hotel. In fact, you can see Spaceship Earth from the dining area!! Have fun!!

I would recommend the following:
Luxury: Beach Club - It has the best pool on Disney property and you can literally walk from the hotel into the side gate at the Epcot world showcase and you can take a boat launch to MGM.
Moderate: Doubletree Guest Suites just inside the East gate of Disney. It is less expensive than the luxury resorts, you get a fridge, microwave, sitting area, and sink, and bus transportation to the 4 main Disney parks.

There are a few terrific hotels located near EPCOT and Disney MGM Studios (they are right next door to each other). However, my favorite EPCOT Resort is the Boardwalk. The resort is fun for people of all ages! They have fun shops, a cool pool for kids, Jelly Rolls dueling piano bar for adults, and ESPN Zone (home of the best buffalo wings in Orlando)!

When we were at WDW we stayed at Port Orleans--French Quarter. It is one of the smaller resorts and is much easier to get around. The atmosphere was charming, and with the in park transportation, we never had a problem with getting around to the different parks. It sits right on a little river and you can take a boat over to Downtown Disney and enjoy the nightlife. The best part is the price--it is one of the moderate resorts, but has a fun pool, nice rooms and great ambiance.
