The sad thing is, they probably don't.
Either they don't or they take action and get control of it, or sometimes see a psychiatrist.

People really are cruel. You have to realize that there is much more to you than your outer appearance. If you're happy with the way you look, who cares what anyone else thinks? And if you aren't happy with your appearance, make some healthy choices to do something about it. Is it a medical condition that's causing the weight issue, or is it lifestyle? If it's lifestyle, start evaluting your diet and your physical activities and start making changes. Just remember -- it's not about what other people think. It's about what you think.

In your question you have affirmed that you have a weight problem. You know you have that issue, and all you can do about it is to deal with it by living more healthily. Another part of taking care of your health is taking care of your mind. You can do that by speaking positively about yourself to yourself and when you're talking to others. Refuse to say anything mean about yourself, and hopefully that will become a habit to you. And don't let other people tease you either. Love your body and who you are by realizing your beauty. Find things in yourself that you think are pretty, and focus on that. You are beautiful, you have to realze that!

Lose weight. This isn't a flip answer; heavy girls will have problems finding men and finding work. They will have low self-esteem and will experience various health problems.
Unless a teenage girl has a thyroid problem or other such health issue, there is no excuse for her to be overweight.

In everyones life there will be people who will try to keep you down, I think to get over them is to look at yourself as BETTER than them, because you don't go around making fun of someone else's imperfections. Especially Because no one is perfect.

Girls should realize that it is not the opinion of others that affect them, it is the opinion of themselves. As long as you are comfortable with yourself, that is all you need. Sometime people get security and comfort by degrading others but in the long run, they are hurting themselves. Stay true to yourself, and you will always be beautiful

sadly, that will probably stick with them the rest of their life, until they lose the weight and feel liberated and like a new person. at that point, they won't be living with what was always made fun of
