And I'm not referring to people who are trying to be something they're not, but I'm thinking how fascinating it would be to actually see the real-life versions of these avatars. What do you guys think?

I personally chose mine because I thought it resembled me more than some of the others. I know a lot of people that choose their avatars based on what they are or what their interests are. It tells an interesting story. I find it fascinating, and yes, I'd love to see the real life versions of some of the people as well, although I think that the avatars that people choose tell a lot about them.

I think the same thing!! As I look down at the different answers, I observe how everyone looks just a few features away from each other and some exactly alike. And everyone looks good, no one is ugly! We all know that is far from the truth!!

I look a lot like my avatar, my hair is exactly the same! And I agree with the lady above about the grey happy face, freakin scary!!

I would say that no, I do not want to see the faces behind the avatars! It would be to much of a shock to know the thoughts in the mind of the face! A world of facades, isn't that really what it's all about? Can we trust others to be themselves instead of putting on a pretense when not alone? What is authenticity?

well i tried to get mine to look as close to me as i could, and creepilly enough it looks a lot like me, but there was only 5 or 6 different faces, and no way does everyone fall under one of them. And im pretty sure not everyone is as pretty as their avater is. It WOULD be pretty interesting if you met someone who you thought would look like their avatar and they end up looking completely the opposite. Or like if a girl avatar was a guy in real life or the other way around. ew sick, would that mean their gay or lezzy? But i think a lot of people make their avatar look like them, or at least how they WANT to look.

I think people take time to personalize the appearance of their avatars.. for a reason. I think so many of them are so cute!

Yes I think It would be funny to see the "real" face, compared to their avatar!

actually no I don't think so. To me the avatars are like fun little versions of who we are not our actual selves. Most of the time those versions turn out to look a lot like the person in reality for that very reason, you are who you are not what you look like.

Normally I have a face like a dog, but this is a striking resemblance. Just add about 20 years and a touch of gray here and there.
