like a regular size cup... idk one of those red cups you have at barbeques lol.. then what would you say the measurement would roughly be about?

one of the cups at a bbq could be 16 oz (approx 500ml) or 12 oz( approx 350ml). 500ml = 16.9oz.

You can say anything you want too, but a lot depends on the height and diameter of the glass 16 oz, 12 oz, 8 oz., etc. Also the material of the "glass" - glass, styrofoam, plastic? Some companies aren't too accurate in their "size" configurations.

It depends on the glass???? If you have measured it as 288ml then thats ok. Accuracy is a different problem. Eg., for cooking 288ml may be accurate enough, but not for science, medicine etc.
For cookery, 200 to 250 would be the norm. better to opt for the lower value as it's easier to add more than to have to remove it later!

The volume given, 288 ml, is precise but not necessarily accurate because a 'glass' is not well-defined.

sounds good to me, but it depends what you need the accuracy for, if it is just for counting for yourself the its fine, if its for following directions on something NO.
