None of the people in Government have lost friends and family to war or AIDS or poverty or hunger... they could not possibly know what they are defending.

Thanks for the name calling and denial, FaithWhite... that's really helpful. You must be insecure in your vote or something because I never said anything about Republicans in this question... but now that you mention it...

That's my point.... we don't know many people who die of hunger IN THIS COUNTRY.... but we stake the land all over the world.
My broad generalization is not the point... it's funny how people don't even want to accept the idea so they have to attack the question itself.

Reason to care? Every politician in office today seems to have a reason to care..... most generously themselves so to speak, or at least that's the impression they give me. Their major reason seems to be to care whether they get re-elected rather then to tend to the jobs they were elected to in the first place. Our government was established on the premise of Government by the People and for the People. People who vote strictly party line have been one of the many cases of the voting ignorance that continues in every election, such as the one answer that he will vote only democrats in office including a has been woman who is only a want-a-be because she got a taste of what living in the White House was like and feels she's qualified for the presidency. I don't think she's qualified for anything but her self interests. These are the types of people who are dragging our country into a sewer. What we need in office today is to rid ourselves of the self-serving professional politicians who have made a mockery of that statement. It is still "We the People" who want honest government and the right people to run it.

The great thing about this County we can vote for whom ever we choose. You can write in your own name if you would like.
To say "None of the people in Government have lost friends and family to war or AIDS or".. etc... As there are hundred thousand + people, your making a huge assumption. And I would bet an arrogantly false one. And how many do you know in this Country that died of hunger?? Beside the forced starvation of Teri Shrivel of course.

Well that would be special if we had the time to find out who does and doesn't, but we do not.So just remember we were on then right track 6 years ago,and BOOM,BUSH and the trail of horror that has followed him.I will be voting straight DEMOCRAT,the rest of my life even if it's Ann Coulter.Your question is pure and wonderful heart felt concern, and I feel your pain,so get busy campaigning for the right candidates.PEACE IN THE MIDDLE-EAST AND VOTE HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON IN 2008!!!!

Everyone has reason to care. Many people from all parties actually do care. None of that matters. What is important is supporting policies that actually do more good than harm. That is why I never listen to WHAT the candidates say they will do. I want to know HOW they plan to do it.

Nope.Motivation, or intent, is never enough to warrant getting a vote. Only results. That means you don't waste time listening to fancy words, which may, or may not be sincere. there's a bottom line. No results.... kick them out. By this criteria, you may end up kicking out the same ones you had in mind, but for a more objective reason.
