What is a yeast infection?
Yeast infections are the result of an overgrowth of Candida albicans, a type of yeast, or fungus, which is one of the organisms found naturally in a woman's v*gina. This overgrowth often occurs when there is an imbalance in the acidity of the v*gina or in the body's hormones. It can also be found orally - which is known as "oral thrush" which can come from sexual intercourse with a person who has a yeast infection or from medication side effects for Hepatitis C, HIV, and many others.

Chances are - if you meant by ur questions that you were with someone who had one, you did not get it. If you feel any itching, burning, or other unusual symptoms, I would see a doctor to be safe. It is treatable and does go away with some treatment so overall, don't be too worried about it -like I mentioned - it would be rare that you contracted it from her. (if that is what you meant)

This is a common infection that most women will get from time to time for numerous reasons - normally not related to sexual transmission. It can however be transmitted from girl to guy and vice versa - it is possible - both orally and genitally so you should not have intercourse or any relations while someone has one.

It can be treated with an OTC treatment like Monistat or you can get a prescription from your doctor - primary or gynecologist. See the link above for more details as to what it is exactly -

yeats...as in Andrea Yeates? I didn't know she could infect anyone.

If you meant 'yeast' then I suggest you worry about your spelling first. There is a spell checker you know.

Not exactly sure what it is but I know one way of helping to get rid of it. Garlic cloves. whole ones. I know that sounds kind of weird but it works. Seriously!
