I agree with Trish...take lysine right away and put Abreva on a few times a day.

Lysine costs about 15 bucks for a bottle at GNC and Abreva costs about 15 bucks, but you only have to buy them once and they should last for a while.

I use these two together and they stop the cold sores in their tracks right away and go away within a day or two. Definitely works!!

Lysine is a vitamin suppliment that works from the inside out.. but for quick quick quick removal try ABREVA.. that is the stuff!! Works quick, like only 1 or 2 days.. My whole family gets these these about twice a year, and that is the quickest way..

there's a very effective prescribtion drug called Zovirax (Acyclovir)

Acyclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir lessens the symptoms of these infections and shortens the length of time you are sick.

Acyclovir is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses. Illnesses caused by herpes viruses include genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chicken pox.

The HSV-1 virus produces cold sores (aka fever blisters). Anyone could contract it from sharing drinks with others, using someone's fork, shared lip balm, and by kissing anyone that has it. Cold sores happen to be somewhat sensitive blisters which can appear near the lip area, or perhaps even the interior of the mouth or nostril, on the face, or somewhere else on the body.

Cold sores could surface simply because of increased anxiety, colds, fever, winter weather, particular foods, or perhaps an excess of sun. The region can start to tingle, and then a new sore will probably show up. The blister may dry out and develop a yellow-colored crusting. They can last anywhere from seven days to fourteen days. You might attempt to hide the cold sore using cosmetics, however this typically tends to make it a whole lot worse.

To do away with cold sores, you may attempt using a cold sore specific ointment, make use of chapstick with SPF 15, use peppermint oil, take echinacea, vitamins C as well as vitamin E, and totally keeping away from pressing the cold sore. By implementing several changes in lifestyle, it is actually feasible to reduce cold sores and even keep them from reoccurring.
