Upgrade the 2nd gear sprag if it's the 350 turbo tranny it's the weak link. Upgrade the rear end half shafts they are also a weak link. And it's not really horse power you have to be concerned with, it's torque. If you upgrade the for mentioned items she should be able to handle a bit more than 400 ftlbs.

210 is the incredible production unit score for the L82 in 1977. 1977 changed into the perfect 3 hundred and sixty 5 days for the "Stingray" call. 210 changed into an optimist figure. If this particular Vette has the unique, un-rebuilt engine it truly is 30 years previous, it likely would not produce that score anymore. fairly if it has some miles on it. 1973 via 1984 were darkish years for the Corvette. With this 1977 Vette, you should actually replace the L82 with a GM ZZ4 350 Crate engine. that is 330hp out of the field for below $2000. Doing this replace may likely be a uncommon case the position no longer holding a Vette unique may truly enhance that is fee. only a theory. reliable success!

Interesting question as 1974 vettes had low horsepower in its engine output but torque was relatively high.

I would investigate if the same differential and transmission were used in 1971 and 1972. These models had fewer EPA restrictions and had much more hp. If they used the same models, then your answer is whatever the hp ratings for those earlier models were.

i like what Big D said...i just wanted to tell u that horsepower is an arbitrary number...its nothing but torque x rpm divided by 5252 and give no real meaning to how powerful or fast a car is...the question u want to ask is how nuch torque can the tranny and rear end handle
