I am 28 weeks and had a appointment at my OB on Monday.. I just got home from work and in the mail was a prescription for "Chromagen forte" from my OB doc, with no note or explanation.. I called and am waiting for a call back (they are already closed for the day)... I have no idea what this Rx is for.. it has 6 refills on it...
Anyone have any idea..

Thanks.

The chromagen is for your iron. I am on it as well, I started taking it at 30 weeks. Just make sure you take it will lots of water, an hour before you eat or 2-3 hours after you eat..basically and empty stomach, because it will cause diarrhea. Especially the first couple of days with your stomach getting used to it and then it should ease up. Dont worry its no big deal, just make sure you take it daily so it will help get the blood to the baby. They usually give you enough to last after pregnancy to for a bit to help build your blood back up. Congrats on your pregnancy and best of luck!

It is a multi vitamin with an iron supplement.

Vitamins and iron are naturally occurring substances necessary for many processes in the body. Vitamins and iron are found in the foods we eat.

Multivitamins (combinations of vitamins) and iron are available in tablets, capsules, liquids, and injections. Multivitamins with iron are used to treat vitamin and iron shortages in the body that may occur because of illness, pregnancy, poor nutrition, decreased absorption of foods through the stomach, and many other circumstances.

Looks like it is just a multi-vitamin with some iron, still that is bizarre they wouldn't say anything about it. I would wait until tomorrow and call and make sure.
