density is the amount of matter in a given volume. to calculate density, i believe the formula is mass divided by volume. volume is how much space something takes up. the formula for volume is length times width times height.
Density= mass/volume
Volume=LWH

''volume'' is not the same thing than ''density''.

Example: What's the cube volume?

answer: V= a x a x a = a ^ 3 ( ''a'' for edge)

If a = 10 cm the volume of this cube is 1000 cm^3

The volume is the space delimitation.

Density = mass/volume ( Density is a ration between mass
and volume)

Example= A box weight 100kgs and is volume is 100cm^3
Find box's density?

Density = 100kgs /100cm^3 = 1kg/cm^3

The density of any material is really the ratio of its mass to its volume. the slope of a graph of mass vs. volume of a material gives the density of the material. You measure density Length X Width X Height. Take that answer and divide it by 1728 to determine the cubic foot (cft) of an object, and you divide that answer by the weight of the object to get the pounds per cubic foot (pcf)
