Explain contention that talk shows can both normalize and " freakify" queer families.
Have the talk shows you have seen done more to normilize or freakify nontraditional families?
Overall do you think daytime talk TV tends to challege or reinforce long-standing myth about famil?
What about other kinds of TV shows, like soap operas, sit-coms, and " reality" TV?

I think that most talk shows do more harm than good when it comes to any type of untradional families. They are out for shock effect and they get it by bringing out the worst of the worst.. Some of the talk shows like Oprah and Ellen have done a little to show normal gay families or other different families in better light but it's hard to compete with Jerry Springer and Maury.

As far as other tv shows , soap operas , sit coms( will and grace) and reality tv I think they have helped us not be so afraid to admit there are all kinds of people who work as families. And as long as there is love in the family then who else should care!!!

- Quite possibly, talk shows could both normalize and " freakify" queer families.

- Talk shows may or may not normilize or freakify nontraditional families? (aren't we all a bit freaky & nontraditional?)

- famili? Is that like cacti or fungi? ... I think if a family were on say, the Family Feud.. that might reinforce some sort of myth out there.

- Oh, Soap operas certainly reflect the common family values and problems! Especially that Springer guy!

I think that TV has totally gotten weird, I'm not at all against Gay people. I don't think they should be able to adopt a child and raise one. Have you any idea how self fish that is for them to raise a child? or start a family dynamic together, the child is the main concern here and the child will face so many challenges growing up answering people's questions when they say who is your Mom? Or Dad? That is not what God had meant for us as people. The normal family dynamic should be the Father who provides for the family and Mothers to nurture and take care of the little ones. TV shows showing us all these freakifying families are terrible. I hope when i have kids one day that they do not wathc TV as much ... Soap Operas are killing morals and there is not ethics or class any more. It's sad that women do not expect their men to be chivalry and be gentlemen and open doors and treat a woman to a nice date and dinner.... sorry if anyone is offended by my answer but this is what i think.
