That's the funniest joke i've heard in a long time.
I suppose you think New Yorkers and people from Philly have a reputation of being nice kind loving people.
When you are being snowed in i'm enjoying the nice 70 degree weather. And lets not forget about the fact that california gets earthquakes, volcanoes, and hurricanes.
Also I rather live in a nice looking neighborhood close to Disney WORLD and beutiful beaches than inside a 50 floor apartment building in the middle of a giant city.
Unfortunatly many northeners have noticed this and are moving down here causing more traffic (but nothing by New Yorks standards).

Democrats usually are the ones focused on the economy, environment, education, etc.
Those blue states have large metropolitan area, of which you won't find in most red states (Texas, Florida, etc being exceptions.) LA, San Fransisco, Portland, Seattle, New York, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Providence, Minneapolis, etc. are all found in blue states.
People huddle where the money is, and money can certainly be found in those cities.
