HG Drain unblocker is great, you put it down overnight and then just pour hot water down the plug hole. Once you've done that the bath empties much quicker again.
Most hardware stores stock it, I found it better than Mr Muscle

it depends on what the clog is, and where.
If it is in a sink trap, you can either try a plunger, then a chemical to dissolve the clog, or remove the trap and clean it manually.
If it is in an area where the pipe can not be easily disassembled, and the plunger or chemical doesn't work, you can manually clean it using a coiled wire they call a 'snake'.
You feed it down the pipe until it gets to the clog, it is designed with a hook of sorts on the end designed to penetrate the clog.
The snake will have a handle of sorts that will allow you to rotate it, the rotation helps it to get past bends in the pipe and penetrate the clog once it gets there.
There are also water pressure clog removers available, but are best used only on single line drains.
You attach a garden hose to the tool, put it in the drain and turn on the water. The tool blows up like a balloon to seal itself in the pipe, it then pulses with water pressure to force the clog through the pipe. Once the clog is forced through to a larger diameter pipe, it should just float away.

Hi there;
On 'How Clean Is Your House,' Kim & Aggie unblocked a sink by applying half a tub of Liver Salts down first, followed by vinegar! After it had bubbled-up and de-greased, they finished it off with a kettle full of boiling water and a plunger.
Well you can't get much cheaper and eco-friendly than that, can you?

snake it out!!! Carefully!!!
If the problem continues or if you think it will, just use Liquid Plumber in the drain once every month. Put it in the drain, let it sit over night then flush with straight HOT water. To remind yourself to do this, write it on the calendar....

Stick a wire down the pipe, or a garden hose and flush it through.

Remove the bath panel. Undo the trap, clear it out and refit. Make sure the cat isn't under the bath when you refit the panel!
