I don't really have an opportunity to think of anything sad, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get anything into my sleve.

It actually takes a lot of practice, and isn't as easy as it looks.

if you are crying on command for a stage production, tears really aren't that important -- since most of the audience is just farther away and can't see that close. Just make everything more dramatic with your arms and your back (like when you are sobbing it moves up and down) and definitely your voice. But if you are really desperate for tears you can cover your face with your hands and hold open your eyes so they start watering. You can also just trying to stare, and for sure, your eyes will start watering up.

But really, it is all about practice, practice, practice! It took me about a year to learn how to do it convincingly. And honestly if you can think of a sad memory it really does help, even though you said you couldn't in the description.

Good luck!

Hmm, I'm not sure...

I can cry on command pretty easily.
Maybe you have to train yourself to do it.

Or think of something so sad like someone close to you dying.
Try to put your self in your character's place, and feel the emotion.

Once I've gotten myself started on crying I think about lots of bad stuff and how I would feel.

It might be different for others though...

So hope that helps you a little! :]

It's hard for me to cry too...I'm a dramatic person, but I'm also insensitive or just neutral to everything...So, I can look like I'm crying...and get REALLY watery...but the tears will just not roll down my cheeks.

I've heard of people who put Vicks under their eyes...but I would feel fake doing that...You just have to get really into character, and at the same time work with yourself like someone else said...Think about what makes you cry...and the memory of those emotions into your piece.

Think of children dying or animals being tortured. Or the person you love the most suddenly being ripped away from you. It works.

Think of something from your life, that was very sad, and when you still think of it, you cry, as if you are still re-living the event.

Get into character. If the character is sad, the actor should be sad.

The simplest way to do this is to think of something emotional and heartwrenching.......while pinching yourself (the pinching is a catalyst).

What I do is I totally and completely THROW myself into it. I don't hold back at all. Don't worry about looking silly, everyone looks silly when they cry.
