I find that it helps (though its not REALLY what you want) to keep nails short. I have one nail that ALWAYS splits at a certain length. I would file them down once and paint them either with a strengthener polish or just a clear nail polish ( I like to use the pale pink commonly used for French Manicures ). Keep the polish on your nails as they grow...the thicker the layer of polish, the stronger your nail will be...two or three coats max or else it might look gross...less sometimes really is more. Continue until you reach the desired length. DO NOT GET ACRYLICS! lol they're really rough on the nails and cause major damage, especially at removal. Remember to be patient, it might take a couple months before your nails are picture perfect...but believe me, it will be worth the wait. As for white spots or blemishes.... I've heard from countless sources that there isn't anything that can be done about those as the problem stems from an imperfection in the nail bed. In this case, try a colored polish instead of a clear or transparent one to cover up. Good luck!

If they look like little splinters under the nail they could be early signs of a fungus infection of the nail. Go see a dermatologist to get a drug to treat it. Finger nail fungus is more easily controlled than toenail fungus but it will need some effort ASAP

Does it REALLY have to be perfect...just let it be how it is...put some clear nailpolish on it or something.
