Tampons are not flushable to begin with!
Tampons are a big enough environmental problems without flushing them, tampons are absorbent wads of material so in the water they expand causing water authorities billions per year to fix problems they cause, and many tampons make it through the sewage treatment plants into oceans and seas.
This is why water authorities have bag it and bin it campaigns – be responsible and dispose of your tampons correctly in the bin! Simply wrap them up and find a bin, carry them around with you if necessary, you can buy scented menstrual product bags to prevent any smell.

Don't use baby wipes – your vagina is self-cleaning and the chemicals within wipes effect the natural pH of your vagina, this in turn messes up your bacterial balance and so can easily cause infections, the mucosa in your vagina and vulva are also very sensitive so wiping chemicals on them is not a wise idea.
You could always not use tampons, if you get yourself a menstrual cup then you will only need to empty them every 12 hours and because they are reusable it means that you won't have to worry about disposing of them after, it also means you don't have to carry spares with you or worry about being stuck out in the middle of no where with no where to buy more if you need them. As well as that menstrual cups are far more convenient than tampons, a hell of a lot safer, environmentally friendly, body-positive and don't contribute to heavy flow or menstrual cramping as tampons do.

Another idea would be to induce your period before you go camping so that you won't get your period during your trip. The easiest and most widely used method of inducing periods is by drinking Parsley tea, fresh herbs are best all you need do is chop up around a hand full and place into simmering water for half an hour then sieve out the parsley and drink the tea with honey to improve the taste. You could always instead just get parsley tea bags from a health store. Don't boil the tea as boiling makes the herb lose its effectiveness. Drink a few times a day until your period turns up.

Using the trash cans has merit. If you do bury it put a dig the hole a bit deeper than you first think. And put a couple of big rocks on top after you cover it up. Some wild life finds blood very attractive and may dig up your little "prizes". Have fun!

You could bring bags with you and a lot of toilet paper. Any time you need to get rid of something, wrap it up, put it in a bag, and throw it away either later (put your smaller bags in a trash bag that you keep with you) or there if they have trash cans. The toilet paper makes it more discreet, and the bags keep it sanitary and all that. Good luck.

Take along some small dark colored garbage bags with you and some baby wipes so you can clean yourself to feel fresh. That's what my sisters and I do when camping Then just throw the bag away with your other garbage.

Then you'll need to skip the tampons and bring pads, TP, wipes and zip lock baggies. Kinda "ew" but necessary.
