Im no fish expert but Sounds like a problem with its swim bladder, I think you can get stuff from petshops to help but chances are its not going to make it :(

Well, the fact that it is still alive is a very good thing. It's probably just traumatized right now, though I'm not sure that there's anything more you can do for it to help it through the stress. If the other fish are nudging it, you might want to take and put it in its own container (with tank water) for a bit so that the other fish don't start eating it, thinking its dead or close to death. I hope he pulls through!!

hi, when my fish jump out and i put them back in the tank and it goes down or starts to float and its still alive you have a chance by putting oxygen BUBBLES next to it and if you don't have one ,then find a straw or anything that you can use to blow some air next to the fish not to hard but just enough to see if it would start to swim slowly until is back to the normal way, you notice that after about 10 min of giving it oxygen and it still floating then it stayed out of the water too long or it got hit too hard when it fell ,, good luck

It's GREAT your fish is still breathing. Give him time to swim, he may be a bit traumatic. He is most likely still weak from his expirence. Go to your local pet shop and talk to an accosiate. See what they say and take their advise. Just give him time to recover and see what happens.

try putting your injured fish in a secluded tank that is fairly shallow. Make sure he still has enough water to breathe in, but leave it shallow enough to where he doesnt have to use alot of energy to get its food. leave him there for about a week and see if he gets any stronger. fishies are delicate, he might have wounded an internal organ, depending on how far he fell. good luck, and i hope he gets better!

You've already gotten some good answers. I have had that happen before and my fish lived. Using a stuff called "Stress Coat" that you can buy at Wal-Mart will help him heal. Also, get some aquarium salt (also sold at Wal-Mart). That helps with the healing as well.

Unfortunately, fish are not a very hardy species. It most likely has a swim bladder rupture and will die :( Sorry.
