I would search the netgear website. I am assuming you have a wired connection currently.

Or, read the instructions.

Without knowing the exact model of your router, it's hard to be certain, but most wireless routers are very easy to setup. You won't need software (it's rare these days). Instead, just plug in the router, then connect your computer to it using an Ethernet cable. Give it about 15 seconds and then open your web browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc...) and type this address: http://192.168.1.1

Typically that will take you to the router's "web interface" and let you set it up. The router should have come with instructions telling you the default login information so you can set it up. Sometimes they come with wifi turned off until you turn it on yourself. But there's no "installation" as you mentioned.

Check the website for installation instructions.

You could just try it, plug your modem in to the router, fire up your computer with the wireless card, and see if you can connect.

if it didn't come with software, your best option is to go online and check the routers webpage, they should have software for you to download there or instructions to follow YOUR routers set-up. good luck!
