I am old enought to know that there used to be people in the congress& senate who did not care which party was in office , if someone had a good idea they voted for it no matter which party thought of it. Not today . If one party has a good idea the other fights it. They both do it but the Dems. do it more. Why cant we go back to the old ways & serve the country not the party. Be men & wemen not party robots.

I wish we could, but I don't know if it would be that easy. I understand that it helps distinguish what a person stands for, but I feel that publically letting people know would be just as effective. George Washington advised us in his last speech while he was in office against politcal parties...that they would lead to the very issues we face toady....Smart man. I personally identify more with the Republican party, but if the person I feel is best for the office is a Democrat, oh well...I'm gonna vote for whats best, not the party. Party affiliation is somewhat irrelevant and has, esspecially in recent years gottten out of hand. If a republican said something, the democrats are gonna shoot it down, but a month later a democrat could say the very same thing and they would be all voting yes. and Vice-versa. Our government needs to wake up and quit bickering over titles and get some stuff done!

I thought the old fashion way was to have reasons and evidence to support what you wanted to do... and then everyone would vote for it, because you had logical reasons...

seems like anymore a lot of people are throwing around the words "un-American" and "un-patriotic" because they can't prove what they want to do is a good idea...

Why don't you do some research on 9/11 instead of giving unintellignet answers to serious questions. the fact of the matter is that you don't have a clue what you talk about

Because America thrives on pointless conflict. It sucks but it's true. Everyone has to try to form a group and prove that their group is best.
