In my opinion, you should never have to pay for casting notices. Check craigslist under Film/tv, creative, and talent categories for your city. Contact your local Aftra/SAG. Also, check with the film schools in your area, they hold periodic auditions. In Atlanta, you should have theatre auditions listed in your major newspapers. Hope that helps a little.

Most cities/states have a film commission that lists current and future film productions in the state. Production/casting info is on the website.
