i know rushes to that point of the body, but why does the mark remain there after the initial incident

you've broken capillaries and they have bled under the skin. It's a bruise of sorts. Hickies are not a good thing.

The suction breaks capillary walls, and the blood pools near the surface of the skin... i.e. a bruise...

The blood that is drawn to there makes the cappillaries fill and get overwhelmed with blood...on the surface

Your blood's getting sucked up into one spot, then staying in one place. It's basically 'frozen' dead cells sitting at skin's surface. It's sort of distgusting!
