If you do your home work, you will learn with argument I might add that all horses actually came from Arabians however,The answer you are looking for is "WHERE DO YOU LIVE?" In England, Hunter and jumpers are going to be the most popular excluding the draft horses of coarse,If your at a rodeo your going to see all these horses standing about 15 to 15 and a half hands high with big rumps and wide chests, yes, I'm talking about the good ol American Quarter Horse, If your making hash marks along side of all the breeds on a tally sheet probably the Quarter horse for the main fact out of this horse comes the pinto, Paint Palomino, appaloosa get my drift? Arabs are in abundance as well...Polish import, Spanish Import Egyptian and Russian imports, Arabs can be found in the show ring doing everything from western pleasure class's to stock seat or reining to formal dressage Equitation and costume shows. I think more people ride Arabs for trail and simple pleasure riding than any other but on the other hand, tall Standard Breed, T/B horses are my favorite for short trail ridding outings. I did bull dog and team rope off of my favorite quarter horse but I've been known to ride a good rock crushing Mule to chase bear and mountain lion dogs on hunting trips. Here is my answer to your question:::: In my opinion, the most popular horse that you love to have and ride is going to be the horse that you love and love to ride. Did I help?? LOL

Quarter horses have the largest breed registry with the most horses fully registered in not only North America , but I'm pretty sure they rank high up on the list world wide too. The Congress show in Columbus, Ohio is one of the largest in the world as well.

The Quarter Horse, followed closely by the Thoroughbred and the Standard bred, although these breeds are used more often for racing and the quarter horse is used more for riding, showing, roping, etc.

Paints, Quarter, TB, Arabian in that order. Every horse show I attended and did a few horse bowl debates, paints and quarters are 1 and 2 on the research list.
