use the definition of determinant to solve the problem:

|x 0 4|
|x 3 2|

= (equal to)

|x -7|
|2 3|

^^^ those things on the outside of the numbers are suposed to be like an absolute value//matrix kinda thing. ik how to do this type of problem but i just cant get it to work. help w/ explanation thanks

x (0-12) - 1(2x-4x) +2(3x) = 3x+14

-12x+2x+6x = 3x+14

-4x = 3x+14
-7x = 14

x = -2
