Beautiful.
I have not been further north than Inverness, but I have been to Glasgow and Edinburgh many times on business and the west coast, Trossachs etc...etc...for pleasure. Oh and twice to the amazing Isle of Tiree which has the loveliest white beaches, turquoise ocean and that peaceful solitude that only a remote and sparsely populated island can give you. I saw my first whale there too, a Minke.
It is a most beautiful country and unlike any other I have visited.

I like Scotland, I've been a few times. We stayed at Fort William for 5 days last time we went and travelled to a different place each day. It was good.

Quite good - people very welcoming, roads pretty good, food spot on, plenty of places to visit and plenty of quiet places to simply unwind.
Just beware the midges, half-day and some early closing and the fact that school terms are different from the UK so it looks like the Pied-Piper has just visited!

Been to the Borders area of southern Scotland. It was quite scenic and the people were very friendly. I recommend it highly.

It's expensive, they rip off the tourists (and locals, I suppose, if you live somewhere like Loch Lomond) and the midges are almost as bloodthirsty....
