I did this in high school. Your friend cuts herself because she hurts so much mentally, that the physical pain from the cuts acutally makes her feel better. You need to get her to a counselor. Even go with her if it makes her feel better. Suicidal people usually don't really want to die, they just want the pain to stop and would do anything to stop it. If she has a chemical imbalance she needs medication and counseling to control it.

First off - thank you for caring to start with.

Many people who cut aren't suicidal. You need to talk to your friend, and you need to get her help.

She will refuse help. She will. Most people don't understand that cutting is actual something to "help" a person feel again. When your head is full of 500 channels of static and you don't know which end is up, causing yourself physical pain grounds you. Temporarily. Exercise is another good outlet, intense physical exercise - karate, hot yoga, kickboxing.

I am very sorry to hear about your friend, this unfortunately has become a serious problem. I think that you should tell someone like a counselor or teacher that can help and assist her with getting the help she needs.

I know this seems hard and possibly like you are betraying her trust, but the longer this goes on the more she will hurt herself and might move to a darker place and do something more permament to hurt herself. Please, get her help.

Best Wishes!

First, talk to her and tell her she is not worth dieing! (how old is she?) Let her know you understand and are there for her. Ask her why is she so depressed. If things dont get better...you might have to seek help from a councler or parent. i know it sounds cheesy but it saved my friends life.

You HAVE to tell her parents...she's gonna' be really mad at you but she'll get over it. If you don't and she cuts too deep you loose your friend and you spend the rest of your life feeling guilty and ALONE cause you didn't do all you could to help her... Now go talk to her parents

Talk to her about it! Everyone needs someone to listen to them and help them. Ask her why shes doing that to herself. whats happening in her life that makes her feel like cutting or even killing herself. just be there for her!! I hope I helped you a little!!
