David F. I am a white Englishwoman, but does that really matter?
Does knowing my race or sex alter the validity of my answer?
I do not understand why you have not (so far) elected a woman as president. There are many American women who have the education, intelligence, ability, talent and desire to serve their country,in such a position. There is absolutely no reason why they should not do as good-a-job as a man. Why not give them a chance? What have you got to lose? One of the greatest Prime Ministers, that Great Britain has had is Lady Margaret Thatcher, or "Maggie Thatcher" as she was affectionately known. She showed us all that a world statesman could be a woman too.She showed her courage with the Falklands War.She showed that she was not someone `to mess with`. Yes, she showed some tears as well, but how we loved her for that.......America has strong women also. Show them to the world. Let them try.

I mean it was just 30/40 years ago when they were first allowed to vote... there are still a lot of people around with the idea that women shouldn't vote...
it takes a lot more than 50 or so years to change a mindset that's been in place for literally thousands of years... but it's coming along slowly...

Someday we will. We havent seen one yet, cause a majority of the population is the baby boomers, and a lot of them think that the women shouldnt be out working, but in the kitchen along w/ the african american slaves in the backyard mowing the lawn. Once that generation dies off and the younger generations like me (who accept ppl for they are not for what sex or race they are) will be in charge of the world.

OK, don't rush us. We only just got the right to vote 70 years ago, and don't even get me started on the Equal Rights Amendment. We have perfectly qualified women in this country that would make far more able leaders than we have had recently. Don't worry...we're knockin' that ceiling down soon...

The party who could pull it off isn't ready yet. I think if Condi ran, she could win. She is saying she won't run.
I wouldn't want the job, since I already have so many:) But, seriously, men can build their careers while many women are busy with child-bearing and rearing.
I heard more than one republican male say that Elizabeth Dole "hadn't paid her dues." Really ticked me off, too.
Diego, if that is your real name, you are an illiterate ignoramus, and I mean that in the most Christian way possible...

If the right one runs we will. I would vote for Condi Rice in a heart beat. As for Hillary Clinton, she will have no chance. She maybe smart and rich, but you are judged by the company you keep (Slick Willy). I wonder if Bill plays "hide the cigar" with her. Ha ha ha!
