Breast feeding is much better. The babies get the anti bodies they need to resist disease from their mother's milk. And congratulations.

Since you have twins maybe you should try breastfeeding and see how that work. But bottle feeding could be best so that someone else can help you with the feeding. And plus breastfeeding hurts and to think that you have to do it two times. But don't let my opinion scare you out of breastfeeding its a wonderful thing. You could also use a breast pump. That way the will still get the nutrients they need. Or do both. Choose what ever fits you daily life routine. While your in the hospital get all the rest you can, and take the recommend time.

By the congratulations.

Well everyone is going to tell you that breastfeeding is best for the baby, but breastfeeding for 2 will be quite a big task for anyone to take on. If bottle feeding will work better in your soon to be busy life, do not let anyone tell you that there is anything wrong with formula. Your babies will be just fine with what ever you decide to do. I only had 1 child and had a heck of a time with breastfeeding and hated every minute of it, as it was litterally an all day all night job on its own. I finally switched to the bottle and worked out so much better for me. By the way, congratulations to you.

of course the best is breastfeeding but there are so many great formulas out there that substitute perfectly it really doesnt make much difference in the health of your children but i did hear that breastfeeding makes them less prone to food allergies. however since there are 2 little ones it is going to be extremely difficult for shay and it is extremely painful and sometimes you just cant do it breastfeeding doesnt come natural as many people assume but with help youll get the hang of it. i quit after about a week and did formula and i prefer that, one benefit of formula is you can help her with the feeding and form a bond better with your daughters and equal out the 6 times a night you will be waking up to feed the little girls. But regardless of what she decides mothers know best and she will pick whats right for the babys and no matter what anyone else says her decision is the correct one. congradulations and good luck!

Breastfeeding in the end is so much easier once you get the hang of it, takes some time and patience but sooo worth a good hearted effort. If things don't work out, formula will help them thrive and grow just the same. Breastfeeding is A WHOLE LOT cheaper too, especially having twins. It's what your wife is comfortable with, and please support whatever choice she makes. Good Luck and Congrats with the healthy twins.

Breastfeeding is healthier, but in the busy world we live in formula is better, especially for you wife.
-Breastfeeding helps develop a strong bond between mom and the twins and also children who are breastfed have better immune systems according to some studies.
-If your wife works she will have to pump out the milk at night and freeze it while if the twins are formula-fed, the babysitter can just make it at mealtime!
-Mothers also suffer discomfort when they have clogged areas in their breasts and this can be painful.
-What does your wife think about formula vs. breastfeeding? Some women breastfeed for one week and quit while others can do it for six months! If she's a career 9-5 woman she may opt for formula.

Congradulations, how awesome. It is well known that breastfeeding is better for babies. But, it will be very difficult with twins. If she tries and doesnt succeed be very gentle with her. Some women feel inadequate if they are not able to breastfeed. Besides it takes a while for her hormones to balance. If it were me personally I would bottle feed so I could have my husband assist with the feedings also. Good Luck and many blessings.

Congrats!!! I love the repetitive K sounds.

I enjoyed nursing immensely. Such a close bond. Just precious.

It's not really a decision someone can help you make. Most mommies know in their heart which way they lean. Either way, she's going to be judged.

I just read what other people said, and I want to point out that daddies can give a baby breast milk in a bottle, too!!!

i breast fed my son till quite recently it is great i loved it its great bonding time i had 2 friends that stopped after little time and both regretted it they said they missed the bonding time other don't mind but i would definitly give breast feeding a try and it hurts for a couple days but for the convience its worth it they don't get as sick bc they get your anti bodies through your breast milk and thats probably very important with preemies there are a ton of other benifits but you can talk to a nurse or i think theres a lactation consultant at every hospital (at least in canada) talk to hershes give you all the info and also tips for twins :D good luck sounds like you guys have your hands full for a while :D
